Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the generous portion sizes at Al-Bader, particularly the lamb tagine, which features tender chunks of lamb served with rice and vegetables. Many diners also highlight the baklava as a standout dessert, with its perfectly balanced sweetness and delightful texture. The restaurant’s selection of teas and fresh juices, especially mango lassi, has earned a loyal following. Overall, the friendly and attentive service enhances the experience, helping to build a community feel where everyone is treated like family.

Most Disliked

Despite its many strengths, some diners express concerns about the 'cash only' policy that can be confusing, although the staff has made exceptions by providing card payment options when necessary. Others mention the restaurant can be quieter during weekdays, which affects the atmosphere. Additionally, while the food consistently earns high marks, a few guests have noted the need for more distinct vegetarian options on the menu. These minor issues don't overshadow Al-Bader's committed approach to delivering authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.

I went to Al-Bader with a friend for dinner in midweek. I was a bit surprised as it was empty, we were the only ones in there! I asked the waiter if it was like this in midweek and he said a lot of the time, yes. He said it's a little busier at weekends. We ordered starters, well my friend ordered a pudding for starter! I ordered a starter! My friend had baklava, which was delicious and I ordered Lebanese bread filler with mincemeat and parsley which again, was delicious. I asked the waiter to recommend a dish and he recommended the lamb tagine so we both ordered that. We didn't have to wait too long before the main courses came out and when they did, wow! One bowl full of tagine (3 big chunks of lamb, 2 boiled potatoes and a large half of carrot topped with dried dates and chopped almonds) and a bowl of rice! Big portions! The lamb just melted in your mouth, it was divine! The whole dish was full of flavour. We washed this all down with a jug of mango lassi (my new favourite drink!) The whole meal was absolutely delicious and the waiter was friendly and helpful. This begs the question as to why it's empty? The one downside is that it states "cash only" but having explained that neither of us carry cash and only had our phones to pay with, the waiter produced a card machine which we used to pay for our meals!! Not sure what the cash only thing is all about when they do have a card machine? Anyway, if you want a good value, tasty meal, with friendly service in a relaxing setting then Al-Bader is the place to go!!

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Albader Restaurant many times now, and always the experiences were absolutely fantastic. They specialise in Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine, and every dish I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff is friendly and attentive, and you can tell they take great pride in their food and service. Whether you’re in the mood for a rich Moroccan tagine or a refreshing Lebanese mezze, Albader delivers authentic flavors that truly stand out. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality Middle Eastern and North African cuisine

I ate here twice last week. I first chose a lamb tagine, beautifully tender and aromatic, which arrived sizzling at the table, served with rice, finishing with baklawa, the best I have tasted. I enjoyed the meal so much that I returned two days later and had the vegetarian mezze. Quiet atmosphere, attractive surroundings, good service. Excellent value.

Just had a fantastic time there, we came with my daughter and with a friend for a meal and chat, could not wish a better place for it. We had starters as falafel, cheese rolls and moussaka and and for main we all had a chicken shish tavouk with rice and fries and soft drinks as they don’t serve an alcohol. All came fresh quickly and was very tasty. Also we finished a meal with Moroccan green tea which was lovely. Really liked the decor and nice middle eastern music played on background. Staff was friendly and attentive, we will come back again.
